Stevenson Trail (GR®70)

Bring home a hiking sign for the Stevenson Trail (GR®70), one of France's most legendary paths. Following in the footsteps of Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson, this 272-kilometer route connects Le Puy-en-Velay to Alès, crossing Haute-Loire, Lozère, and the Cévennes.

Inspired by Stevenson's account Travels with a Donkey in the Cévennes, which he published after his 1878 journey with his donkey Modestine, the GR®70 attracts thousands of hikers every year. Mont Mézenc, the Goulet plateau, Mont Lozère, Cévennes valleys: twelve to fifteen days of walking through some of the wildest landscapes in the Massif Central.
